Since Ohio will have Issue 1 on the November ballot, Slay The Dragon is about gerrymandering that is occurring around the United States. A secretive, high-tech gerrymandering initiative launched 10 years ago threatens to undermine our democracy. Slay the Dragon follows everyday people as they fight to make their votes matter. It features Katie Fahey, the activist who founded Voters Not Politicians and led a successful grassroots campaign to ban partisan gerrymandering in Michigan.
“The most important political film of the year,
and it may prove to be one of the key political films of the decade.”

END GERRYMANDERING OR DEMOCRACY DIES.
Slay the Dragon shines a light on gerrymandering, and follows a handful of citizens’ groups, outraged by an attack on the core democratic principle that every person’s vote should count equally, as they battle party operatives and an entrenched political establishment to fix a broken system.

Critics Reviews:
-
Adam Graham | The Detroit News
Gerrymandering is purposely confusing. Even its name is wonky. But the compelling, impassioned documentary “Slay the Dragon” does an effective job of explaining it, showing how it’s at odds with the very notion of democracy and getting viewers fired up to do something about it. -
Dennis Schwartz | Movie Reviews
If you’re a political junkie, this is a must-see film. -
Isaac Feldberg | Fortune
Not simply an exposé, the documentary implores its viewers to take action, shining a light on various grass-roots movements that have sprouted up in opposition to gerrymandering and the political hostage-taking that has resulted from it.
