Appointed as Interim Erie County Recorder on February 2, 2023,
to fulfill term through January 5, 2025.

Ellie has worked for Erie County for 37 years – 11 years in the Tax Map
drawing the maps for recorded legal descriptions
and 26 years in the Auditor’s office transferring deeds for the Erie County tax base.
She also worked part time for a year in the Treasurer’s office to help them through tax collection.
With her vast experience with the various county departments,
Ellie worked with the diverse elected officeholders during that time.
Ellie has worked closely with the Recorder’s office for all 37 years.
Deeds cannot be recorded without Tax Map and Auditor approval.
Being familiar with the process, it was an easy transition into her
new responsibilities as Erie County Recorder.
It has also been a very smooth transition for the Recorder’s office staff and the public.
The Recorder’s office has had a very good working relationship with all the county offices,
including Tax Map, Auditor, Treasurer, Probate, Clerk of Courts and Highway Engineers.
One of Ellie’s goals since day one is to work as a TEAM with all the county offices,
which they accomplish every day.
Prior to her appointment as Recorder, Elie was very familiar and knowledgeable
with the Recorder’s Office and its website due to her various job responsibilities and duties.
She reads and understands a legal description on a deed, follows ownership on parcels of land,
researches past and present ownership of parcels,
knows what needs to be recorded for a deed to be legal and
knowledgeable of and experienced with splits, combinations, transfers and plats.
Ellie adds value at collaboration, interpersonal and multitasking abilities.

Ellie works closely with Serving Our Seniors on the Policy and Program Committee.
The committee meets once a month and discusses where Serving Our Senior funds are spent,
recommends programs and gives recommendations on policy.
Ellie was recently appointed to the Board of Serving Our Seniors which meets every two months.
In addition to working as a TEAM with other county offices, Ellie’s additional goals
include continuously reviewing the recording process and procedures and
look forward to making any necessary improvements to better serve our customers.
