About Seth
“Don’t tell me the sky’s the limit when there are footprints on the moon.”
The idea of limitless possibility resonated with Seth Walsh at a young age and inspired him to not be bound by the well-worn paths but to chase his passions and aspire to dream big.
A native of St. Joseph, Michigan, Seth moved to Cincinnati to attend Xavier University. While at Xavier, Walsh was elected Student Body President with the most votes in Xavier’s history. In his newfound confidence, Walsh became more involved in the Greater Cincinnati community and ultimately decided to put down roots in Cincinnati after graduation.
After graduation, Seth worked for various members of Cincinnati City Council before leaving to work with the CDC Association as their Associate Director and helping start up the Sedamsville CDC as their Executive Director Seth was then recruited to lead the College Hill CURC in their mission to revitalize the College Hill Business District as their Executive Director.
Seth is an accomplished nonprofit leader nad a recognized community development leader who has proioritized keeping Cincinnati growing, vibrant, and safe. As the Executive Director of the College Hill CURC, Walsh expanded the College Hill CURC from being its sole employee to a staff of 11 full time employees. During his tenure he led over $85 million in development within the College Hill business district, with another $50 million in the pipeline and including $500,000 to upgrade the façade and outdoor dining spaces of existing businesses along Hamilton Avenue. Seth’s leadership in College Hill brought 14 new businesses to College Hill with 7 opening during the pandemic and with another 7 slated to open in the coming years; and invited tens of thousands of visitors to College Hill through community events.
Under Seth’s leadership, the College Hill CURC expanded their property portfolio from 3 buildings to 31; built, renovated or actively maintained 110 units of housing in the business district, with 108 of the 110 qualifying as affordable housing, another 197 units in construction and 130 units in predevelopment. Most recently, the organization acquired and fundraised over $600,000 to preserve and maintain a multi-unit, mixed used affordable housing apartment complex while addressing deferred maintenance and improving the quality of life for existing residents.
Currently, Seth is a Cincinnati City Coucilmember. He assumed office on December 19, 2022, after being appointed to fill the seat of newly elected Congressman Greg Landsman. Seth was re-elected November 4, 2025 with his current term ending on January 4, 2028. Seth is a member of the Cincinnati Retirement System Board of Trustees.

In his free time, Walsh is Chairman of the Cincinnati Elections Commission and President of the Friends of the Taft Family Legacy. Walsh is an avid soccer fan and player and can often be found playing recreational games around Cincinnati. Walsh lives in Clifton with his two dogs, Calvin and Rosie.
Seth Walsh believes that by strategically investing in Ohio’s farmers, public sector employees and small business entrepreneurs, we can lead a resurgence of our neighborhoods and positive growth for all communities. Seth will ensure the state’s investments, pension funds, and revenue are managed with integrity and are used to strengthen our communities so all Ohioans thrive. As Treasurer of the State of Ohio, Seth will be an independent steward of taxpayer dollars, pensions and savings, lifting up neighborhoods throughout the state.
