Main Street Initiative - Tuesday, 1.22.19

BUILDING OUR BENCH

A strong bench of effective public servants at all levels comprises the heart of a strong state party. That’s why the Ohio Democratic Party – along with local county parties – is committed to recruiting and cultivating candidates who connect with voters, win elections, and once they enter office, make progress on the issues that matter most in the lives of their constituents.

The first stage of building our bench began in January, 2015, with the launch of our Main Street Initiative. The Main Street Initiative is laser focused on providing local candidates from across the state with financial support, individual coaching, fundraising, messaging and voter contact training, and access to cutting edge technology and data.

No matter your background or level of experience – from exploring and first-time candidates, to those who’ve previously run for office or worked on campaigns – the benefits of Main Street are undeniable:

  • Hands-on, customized fundraising and voter contact support, as well as online and group trainings;
  • Promotion to in-state and national progressive donors and opportunities to network and share best practices with candidates and elected officials across Ohio;
  • Access to a wide range of campaign resources and professionals with decades of experience and real-time knowledge of industry advancements and lessons learned from past electoral success.
  • Over 150+ candidates and staff have been trained with over $1.5 million invested on local races across the state.

Do you feel the call to Public Service?
