Re-elected as Erie County Prosecuting Attorney on November 8, 2016.  Term begins January 7, 2017.

Kevin was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1982. He is currently Vice President of National District Attorney Association, Chairman of the Erie County Community Corrections Board and past President of the Ohio Prosecuting Attorneys Association. Before being elected as the Erie County Prosecutor in 1989, Kevin served as Law Director for the City of Sandusky from 1987 to 1989. He also served as Police Prosecutor for the City of Sandusky from 1983 through 1987.

Erie County Engineer John ‘Jack’ D. Farschman

Erie County Engineer

Re-elected as Erie County Engineer on November 8, 2016.  Term begins January 7, 2017.

Erie County Engineer John "Jack" D. Farschman, P.E., P.S., is currently serving his fifth term as county engineer. Through 2009, under Jack's leadership, the Engineer's Office has replaced and reconstructed 55 of Erie County's 130 bridges and initiated over 291 miles of resurfacing, widening, and seal coat work on the county road system. Jack is a graduate of Ohio Northern University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering.

Bill Monaghan is a fifth generation Erie County resident and was born and raised in Sandusky and Perkins Township. He is President of the Board. He is married to the former Judy Baxter and has two grown children and six grandchildren. He graduated from St Mary's High School and attended Bowling Green State University. He retired in December, 2005 from Wabash Alloys, formerly known as Vulcan Materials, after 40 years in the secondary aluminum business. Bill was the Senior Purchasing Manager at Wabash Alloys. He was re-elected on November 4, 2014, to his third term as Erie County Commissioner.

Erie County Recorder Barbara A. Sessler

 

Erie County Recorder

Re-elected as Erie County Recorder on November 8, 2016.  Term begins January 7, 2017.

Beginning her career in the Recorder's Office in 1989, Barbara A. Sessler took office as the Erie County Recorder in January of 2005.  She has served as an officer for the Ohio Recorders Association since 2009 and just completed her term during 2011 as Association President. 

Barbara is a recipient of the Ohio Recorder’s Association Gold Quill Award, which is given to a Recorder who has displayed extraordinary effort for the advancement of the Ohio Recorders' Association.

Barbara is a member of the Margaretta Township Park Board and the Margaretta Township Records Retention Board. Barbara is also a member of the Erie County Township Association and the Erie County Farm Bureau.

Barbara and her husband, Dennis, own and operate a farm near Castalia. They are the proud parents of three children and five grandchildren.

Erie County Commissioner Patrick J. Shenigo

Re-elected to third term as Erie County Commissioner on November 8, 2016.  Term begins January 2, 2017.

Patrick Shenigo was elected to the Erie County, Ohio Board of Commissioners on November 4, 2008. He is a life-long resident of the Erie County Community. Pat is married to Cam (Stacey) Shenigo, and has four children. He has been involved in real estate development and business ventures in Erie, Lorain, Cuyahoga, and Franklin Counties.

Among advocating for reduced spending and efficient government since taking office in 2009, Mr. Shenigo has served on the Transit Technical Advisory Committee and Executive Board, the Erie County Land Bank Executive Board, President of the Erie County Solid Waste District, and President of the Erie County Metropolitan Planning Organization's Policy Committee.

Mr. Shenigo has also been pivotal in assisting in the development of the newly created Erie County Port Authority and has provided support to various regional transportation projects including improvements along the US 250 Corridor.

Also, he continues to champion the local NASA Plum Brook Research Station on regional, state, and national platforms; sharing the message that Plum Brook is a world-class testing and research facility that has far reaching impacts on national security and the economy.

Erie County Sheriff Paul A. Sigsworth

Erie County Sheriff 

Re-elected as Erie County Sheriff on November 8, 2016.  Term begins January 7, 2017.

Sheriff Sigsworth was elected to his first full term as Erie County Sheriff.

6.02.12 - Captain Paul A. Sigsworth appointed Acting Sheriff by Erie County Commissioners

Sheriff Paul Sigsworth was appointed as the interim Erie County Sheriff in June, 2012 by the Erie County Democratic Central Committee to fill the unexpired term of Retired Sheriff Terry Lyons.

Sheriff Sigsworth has been employed by the Erie County Sheriff’s Office for his entire law enforcement career.   Originally appointed as a part-time deputy sheriff in 1983, Sheriff Sigsworth served as a dispatcher, jail deputy, and patrol deputy.   Sheriff Sigsworth was appointed as a full-time deputy in 1985 and served as a patrol deputy and detective until 1994, when he was promoted to the position of Detective Sergeant.   Sheriff Sigsworth served in that capacity until 2001, when he was promoted to Operations Captain.   In that role, Sheriff Sigsworth supervised the Patrol, Communications, and Detective Divisions of the Sheriff’s Office.   Sheriff Sigsworth served in that capacity until his appointment to the Office of Sheriff.

Sheriff Sigsworth has attended numerous law enforcement education training sessions and seminars and is a graduate of the 216th Session of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s National Academy.
