Connie Pillich - Withdraws 2.14.18

Former State Representative Connie Pillich ends campaign for governor and endorses Richard Cordray for governor.

I want to humbly thank you for your belief in me and your generous support of my candidacy.

I have been campaigning for governor because I’ve seen where the Republicans have led our state over the last seven years — and I know that we need a change of leadership.

The Republican Party has consolidated support around Mike DeWine — and they will do whatever it takes to hold onto power.

On the Democratic side, Rich Cordray has quickly built a strong campaign and undoubtedly has the momentum to win. As Ohio’s former Treasurer, Attorney General, and as the first head of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Rich has the leadership experience and the vision to not only take on Mike DeWine, but to help turn our state around.

After much contemplation, I’ve decided that it’s time for our party to unite as well — and to gear up for the tough fight for the General Election.

That’s why I am ending my campaign today and wholeheartedly throwing my support behind Rich. It’s time to come together and make sure we elect a Democrat as our next governor.

I hope that you’ll join me and do everything you can to elect Rich Cordray as the next governor of Ohio. Please pitch in today to help Rich build the campaign he needs to turn Ohio blue in November.

Again — thank you for sharing this journey with me.

Now let’s get to work!

Yours truly,
